SERMONS:
We thank brother Chong Fatt for the thought-provoking sermon on “Reflections Behind The Bamboo Cross” last Lord’s Day. This morning our minister will share with us on “Concerns About Commitment” at the Combined Worship Service with our Mandarin speaking brethren with brother Steven Tham as translator. Please stay back for our Agape Feast Luncheon immediately after our church services. Do continue to invite your friends/loved ones to attend all our church services.
SUNDAY BIBLE CLASSES:
This morning, brother Shane Lopez will continue to teach on “The Characters Of Jacob And Esau” in the Adult Bible Class downstairs. The Upper Youths Class will study on “The Problem Of Time” in The Christian’s Everyday Problems series. Food For Thought: “If one becomes so involved with this world’s activities that no time is left to prepare for life beyond the grave, he has actually wasted his life. Many are like the little girl in Bible class. The teacher asked how many would like to go to heaven. All raised their hands except one little girl. The teacher asked: ‘Mary, don’t you want to go to heaven?’ She replied: ‘Oh, no, ma’am, I don’t have time. My mother told me to come straight home from Bible class.’ Are we taking time to go to heaven?” Please bring your children and loved ones for all of our Bible classes for all ages.
FRIDAY BIBLE CLASS:
This coming Friday, we will continue the Out Of This World series on the topic “The Prince Of This World” Consider: “Some of Satan’s most deadly work is done by those who profess to be Christians. The apostle Paul warned that false workers would arise within the church (Acts 20:28-30). One of the Devil’s most powerful methods is to generate so much strife within the church that it is divided and rendered useless. ‘For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work’ (James 3:16). It is not necessary for the Adversary to completely destroy the church. He needs only to get Christians to become so busy fighting and quarreling among themselves that they have no thought or time to save the lost.” Join us in our series/discussions at 8.00 p.m.
DVD MOVIE MATINEE:
Come and join us in our DVD matinee on October 17th (Saturday) at 4.00 p.m. where we will watch “The Inn Of The Sixth Happiness” which portrays the inspiring true-life story of Gladys Aylward, an English parlor maid who became a missionary to China and led 100 homeless children to safety across enemy-held terrain during Japan ’s invasion of China . Discussions follow after the DVD movie.
