|MAY 14th, 2017 PJ CHURCH OF CHRIST BULLETIN
HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY 2017!
This morning, brother Chong Fatt will bring forth the “Mother’s Day Message 2017” (Ephesians 6:1-3) from the pulpit. Please collect your Mother’s Day gifts before you leave the church services this afternoon. Continue to invite and bring your friends and loved ones to attend all of our church services.
SUNDAY ADULTS BIBLE CLASS:
Brother Chong Fatt will continue to teach the Adults Bible Class on Ecclesiastes 9 in our church auditorium this morning. Food For Thought: “The ultimate test which shows the futility of human achievements is the inevitability of death. Death is the great leveller. It respects neither the righteous nor the wicked, and does not ask whether one practiced sacrifice or not. Death frustrates our natural ambitions and our desires for retribution. It is the guarantor of ultimate human equality… Death does not deprive life of all value. A living dog is still better than a dead lion – not because it has any ultimate ‘gain,’ but because it has the present power to enjoy. Only the living can experience and enjoy. Conversely, life is given to be enjoyed… The purpose of Ecclesiastes’ emphasis on death is to deflate the claims and achievements of humanity and remind us of our contingency and dependence as creatures… The focus of Christian life is not on the hereafter, which is not within our reach, but on the present, for which we are responsible...” Bring your children and loved ones punctually for all our Bible classes geared for all ages.
