| AUGUST 20TH, 2017 PJ CHURCH OF CHRIST BULLETIN
We thank bro. Alex Ong for his uplifting sermon on “How To Make Real Personal Changes In Your Life” last Sunday This morning brother Cornelius Ting will bring forth a lesson from Titus 2: 11-14 -- “The Grace of God.” Do bring your loved ones/ friends to worship with us every Sunday.
SUNDAY ADULT BIBLE CLASS:
Brother Wong Wee Loke will continue the study in the new series -- “Strengthening Your Grip”. This morning’s lesson is “On Encouragement. Food for Thought: “All of us need encouragement – somebody to believe in us. To reassure and reinforce us. To help us pick up the pieces and go on. To provide us with increased determination in spite of the odds. …. One of the highest of human duties is the duty of encouragement … it is easy to pour cold water on their enthusiasm; it is easy to discourage others. The world is full of discouragers. We have a Christian duty to encourage one another. Many a time a word of praise or thanks or appreciation or cheer has kept a man on his feet. … Encouragement should take the sting out of life. But be careful not to create other burdens for those you want to encourage. Do what you do with no interest whatever in being paid back. Reciprocal expectations are guilt-giving trips, not encouraging actions! Also, try to be sensitive to the timing of your actions. A well-timed expression of encouragement is never forgotten. Never!” Please bring your children punctually for the Sunday’s Children/Youth Class to be taught the Bible every week.

“Real encouragement occurs when words are spoken from a heart of love to another's recognized fear.” – Larry Crabb
“If you knew that only a few would care that you came, would you still come? If you knew that those you loved would laugh in your face, would you still care? If you knew that the tongues you made would mock you, the mouths you made would spit at you, the hands you made would crucify you, would you still make them? Christ did.” – Max Lucado
“You know how it is -- you say the same words, yet they mean different things to those hearing them. you offer the same touch, yet it yields different results in different lives. Some people soak up your touch; others wipe it off. You might look at these situations and get discouraged: "Fine! I just won't do anything nice for anyone!" Yet look back at the example of Jesus.” – Amy Nappa
“We must offer ourselves to God like a clean, smooth canvas and not worry ourselves about what God may choose to paint on it, but at each moment, feel only the stroke of His brush.” – Jean Pierre de Caussade
“The next time you find yourself alone in a dark alley facing the undeniables of life, don't cover them with a blanket, or ignore them with a nervous grin. Don't turn up the TV and pretend they aren't there. Instead, stand still, whisper his name, and listen. He is nearer than you think.” – Max Lucado
“The ministry of the Spirit of God strengthens us, too, for the task that He knows lies ahead of us. We cannot survive or complete this task using our own abilities. Like Peter and the apostles, we need God's empowerment. We may not know what lies ahead, but we do know that God is preparing us for the future He has prepared for us.” – David Edwards
“The ultimate proof of total forgiveness takes place when we sincerely petition the Father to let those who have hurt us off the hook -- even if they have hurt not only us, but also those close to us.” – R. T. Kendall
