We thank brother Jayson Leong for his encouraging sermon on “Do Not Limit God” last Lord’s Day. This morning brother Alex Ong will bring forth a sermon from God’s Word. Do bring your loved ones/ friends to worship with us every Sunday.

This morning we have brother Allan Hoo to teach us a lesson “On Prayer” from the “Strengthening Your Grip” series. Food for Thought: “Real prayer – the kind of prayer Jesus mentioned and modelled – is realistic, spontaneous, down-to-earth communication with the living Lord that results in a relief of personal anxiety and a calm assurance that our God is in full control of our circumstances. Tell God all that is in your heart, as one unloads one’s heart, its pleasures and its pains, to a dear friend. Tell Him your troubles, that He may comfort you, tell Him your joys, that He may sober them; tell Him your longings, that He may purify them, tell Him your dislikes, that He may help you to conquer them; talk to Him of your temptations, that He may shield you from them, show Him the wounds of your heart, that He may heal them; lay bare your indifference to good, your depraved tastes for evil, your instability. Tell Him how self-love makes you unjust to others, how vanity tempts you to be insincere, how pride disguises you to yourself and to others. … If you thus pour out all your weaknesses, needs, troubles, there will be no lack of what to say. You will never exhaust the subject. It is continually being renewed. People who have no secrets from each other never want for subjects of conversation. They do not weigh their words, for there is nothing to be held back; neither do they seek for something to say. They talk out of the abundance of the heart, without consideration they say just what they think.” Please bring your children punctually for the Sunday Children/Youth Class to be taught the Bible every week.

October 06th: Dearest Brethren, I am presently in British Columbia, Canada while the HST students are having their mid- term exams. Just visited Ming Paul Lee in Nanaimo in beautiful Vancouver Island (also named Sunshine Coast) known for the beautiful lakes, forest and different fruit trees (apples, pears, huge figs, grapes, cherry tomatoes, etc. with vivid memories. The last time I visited the island was in 1995 after graduating from ACU. The traffic has picked up tremendously but I remembered with nostalgic feelings the Island. Just took the BC Ferry back to Coquitlam and Vancouver to stay with Oi Keng & family one night and going back Calgary early tomorrow morning. The trip will take 14-15 hours. Scheduled to fly back Memphis on Monday evening. It has been a very rich rewarding trip to visit old friends and brethren. God has been very good to us! Please keep us in your prayers! God Bless! OCF

“We tend to use prayer as a last resort, but God wants it to be our first line of defence. We pray when there's nothing else we can do, but God wants us to pray before we do anything at all.
Most of us would prefer, however, to spend our time doing something that will get immediate results. We don't want to wait for God to resolve matters in His good time because His idea of 'good time' is seldom in sync with ours.” -- Oswald Chambers

“The more you pray, the less you'll panic. The more you worship, the less you worry. You'll feel more patient and less pressured.”-- Rick Warren

“Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts.” -- Mother Teresa
