|OCTOBER 15TH, 2017 PJ CHURCH OF CHRIST BULLETIN
We thank brother Alex Ong for his evangelical sermon on “The Five Factors of the Faithful” last Lord’s Day. This morning brother Allan Hoo will bring preach on “How Good is Good Enough?” (Luke 18:15-23) Do bring your loved ones/ friends to worship with us every Sunday.
SUNDAY ADULT BIBLE CLASS:
Brother Wong will bring us another lesson .“On Aging” from the “Strengthening Your Grip” seriesFood for Thought: “Aging not only happens, it happens fast. … For many, growing older represents a grim reality, a lonely and frightening journey that seems overwhelming – at times unbearable. … Because we cannot alter the inevitable, we adjust to it. And we do that not a year at a time, but a day at a time. Instead of eating our heart out because a few more aches and pains have attached themselves to our bodies, we determine to celebrate life rather than endure it. Aging isn’t a choice, but our response to it is. In many ways we ourselves determine how we shall grow old. … Are you getting older? Yes, we all are. Are you interested in strengthening your grip on that inevitable aging process? I’m sure you are. Don’t postpone it any longer Regardless of your age, your circumstance, your past, or your feeling, give in no longer to feelings of uselessness, guilt, self-pity, or fear. View life as a challenge, not a threat. Follow the Lord fully, not half-heartedly. And one more thing, start today, not later.” Please bring your children punctually for the Sunday Children/Youth Class to be taught the Bible every week.

MESSAGE FROM BROTHER ONG CHONG FATT:
October 12th, 2017: Dearest Brethren, I am presently back in sunny Memphis with my books and studies again after traveling for about 3 weeks through Abilene, Texas for the ACU Summit, Searcy, Arkansas for the Harding Lectureship, Harding University Tahkodah in Arkansas, Florence, Alabama at Heritage Christian University with brother Gordon Hogan who was the keynote speaker at "Diakonos", Calgary, Alberta to visit Shane & Sigang and Vancouver, British Columbia to visit old friends, Oi Keng in Coquitlam and Ming Paul in Nanaimo, Vancouver Island. It was cold with brisk snow in Calgary, Canada (it is still Fall Season) but it make spectacular photographs with the beautiful snowcapped mountains, spectacular lakes, farms, fruit trees, boats, ferries, etc. Took tons of photographs. Ming Paul gave me more books and who can resist them?? Got to take stock of my 2 baggage weights as I fly home in December. Also purchased lots of DVDs and magnets and other knick-knacks (you know me??) for memory sake.
October 10th marked the half way point of my US sojourn. Missed home and the PJ church. Being away gives me new perspectives about church and the different ways they do things here as I worship with different churches almost every Sunday in Memphis - more than 30 churches of Christ in this city. The studies at HST have been most thought provoking, helpful and beneficial which will resonate in my mind in the months and years to come. Tomorrow John Lim from the Pasir Panjang church in Singapore who just enrolled as a freshman Bible major in Harding University will visit and stay with me over the weekend. This Tuesday night will have the second Mission Interest Group at Dr. Evertt Huffard’s house.
In November I will travel again to NY to visit Akinde & family over the weekend (at his insistence and invitation), preach at Ames, Iowa for 2 Sundays over Thanksgiving weekends at Anthony Santiago’s invitation. Plan to visit Miles Cotham, San Tin, Kok Hai and others in Nashville in early December and Bakersfield, California before I fly back home. Please continue to pray for me. God has been so GOOD! OCF
