|January 7TH, 2018 PJ CHURCH OF CHRIST BULLETIN
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018!
This morning brother Chong Fatt will bring us the “New Year’s Message 2018” at our Combined Worship Service from the pulpit with brother Steven Tham as translator. We are thankful to God who has blessed and given us this brand new year. Let us live our lives that we will honour and glorify Him with our words and actions in this brand New Year. Please stay back for our monthly Agape Feast Luncheon immediately after our church services this afternoon. Please continue to bring your loved ones and friends to worship with us each Sunday.
SUNDAY ADULT BIBLE CLASS:
Brother Chong Fatt will commence a new series on “A Study of the Nature And Work of the Holy Spirit” in the Adults Bible Class this morning. Food For Thought: “The religious world abounds with confusing and conflicting doctrines concerning the Holy Spirit. Few doctrines have spawned more divisions in Christendom than the widely varying beliefs concerning the nature and work of the Holy Spirit. It is the age of the Holy Spirit! He is alive and at work through the Word of God, in the life of the church and in the personal lives of Christians. He is not some magical, distant being who does hokus-pokus in the wee hours of the morning. He is a spiritual personality who lives within you, walks with you, guides you, comforts you and helps you mature in Christ.” Please bring your children punctually for the Sunday Children/Youth Classes to be taught the Bible every Sunday.
AGAPE FEAST LUNCHEON COLLECTION:
Instead of our normal Building Maintenance Fund, we will have our first Bi-Annual Agape Feast Luncheon Collection this morning with the target of RM3600.00 to help defray the monthly catered luncheons for the first six months. Please give generously towards this collection.
THE STORK HAS ARRIVED:
Sister Eunice Tan (brother Francis’ daughter) gave birth to a healthy baby girl weighing 3.16 kilos they named Loh Kai Xynn this past Tuesday. Congrats on the new arrival.

“Time is our destiny. Time is our hope. Time is our despair. And time is the mirror in which we see eternity. Let me point to three of the many mysteries of time: its power to devour anything within its sphere; its power to receive eternity within itself; and its power to drive toward an ultimate end, a new creation.” (Paul Tillich: The Shaking of the Foundations).
“No man ever sank under the burden of the day. It is when tomorrow’s burden is added to the burden of today that the weight is more than a man can bear. Never load yourself so. If you find yourself so loaded, at least remember this: it is your own doing, not God’s. He begs you to leave the future to Him, and mind the present.” (George Macdonald).
“God is perpetually pouring his soul through time and space though but few know it. Not one man in a thousand ever understands a great nature in his own age. We see this on the human plane; and how much more should we expect to see it in the divine sphere!” (Henry Ward Beecher).
